Iona College women's basketball head coach Billi Godsey announced the appointment of Briana Hutchen as director of basketball operations in July 2015.
Hutchen, a native of Baltimore, MD, recently completed a standout career at Alabama. In 91 career games for the Crimson Tide, Hutchen averaged 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest and connected on 154 career field goals. As a senior, Hutchen registered five double-digit scoring efforts, along with five games with 10 or more rebounds.
She was a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection. Hutchen's on-campus leadership roles at Alabama included the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Athletes in Action. In June 2015, she attended the NCAA Career In Sports Forum in Indianapolis. The four day event provided college athletes with a broader scope of career tracks available within the sports industry. The forum allowed student-athletes interactive experiences with successful individuals in the sports business and a peek into their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
In her role as the director of basketball operations, Hutchen's responsibilities will include video coordination, team travel, assisting with academic supervision of the players, and coordination of the team’s community service effort.
Hutchen obtained both a bachelor's degree in communications and master's in human environmental science from Alabama.
