Former Iona College women's basketball center Milica Paligoric has reached a deal to play professionally in France. Following her time with the Gaels, Paligoric will now suit up for D'Ifs, a team in the NF1 French Division.
"I'm very proud of Milica's much deserved contract with D'Ifs, said head coach Anthony Bozzella. "She rightfully joins a growing list of players I've coached here at Iona that have gone on to play professionally."
While in France, Paligoric will practice with Mondeville, a EuroLeague team in the LFB Division, one of the highers division in the country. While overseas, Paligoric will also look to pursue a masters degree.
"I'm excited to get a chance to train with some of the best European coaches and play with really good European players there," said Paligoric. I hope to established myself as a top player here while practicing with Mondeville and being a member of the D'Ifs squad."
In 114 career games for the Gaels, Paligoric scored 440 points and pulled down 320 rebounds. She shot 42.3% from the field, including 37.9% from behind the three point arc. A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Paligoric earned a degree from Iona in business administration with a concentration in finance.
