EDISON, NJ - Iona College women's basketball freshman forward Joy Adams has been tabbed MAAC Rookie of the Week for the eighth time this season, after averaging a double-double this past week for the Gaels in critical conference action.
Adams averaged 11.5 points and 12 rebounds for the Gaels. Against Niagara, Adams scored a game high 17 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, collecting her seventh 'double-double' of the season. At Loyola, Adams had a game high nine rebounds and matched a season high with two assists.
Iona is back in action Thursday evening when it travels to Siena for a 7:00 pm tip.
