EDISON, NJ - Iona College women's basketball sophomore forward Joy Adams was named MAAC Player of the Week for her efforts in the Gaels' win over Quinnipiac. It marks the second Player of the Week recognition for Adams this season.
Adams scored a career high 29 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, her 12th double-double of the season, to help the Gaels to a 95-86 victory over the Bobcats in their lone contest of the week. The win extended Iona's winning streak to 11 games, the longest in program history. Adams went 10-for-14 (.714) from the field, and knocked down nine shots from the charity stripe in the win. On the glass, Adams grabbed four of her rebounds on the offensive end. Adams also added two assists and a steal in the victory.
