Women's Water Polo Earns ACWPC Academic Recogntion

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Five members of the Iona College women's water polo team were among the over 300 student-athletes rewarded for their dedication in the classroom and named to the 2014 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Scholar-Athlete Team.

Junior Dana Andrea, along with recent graduate Erika Lauraitis earned Outstanding academic distinction, awarded to players who finish with a grade point average of higher than 3.71. Earning Superior distinction (3.70 - 3.41) were recent graduates Georgina Lee and Amy Olsen. Recent graduate Hannah Cross earned Excellent academic recognition, given to players who attain grade point averages of 3.40 - 3.20.

The Gaels also earned Team GPA recognition, awarded to institutions with grade point averages higher than 3.00.
