Women's Soccer Recognized by NSCAA For Academics

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Iona College women’s soccer team was recognized for the fourth consecutive year for their outstanding efforts in the classroom by the NSCAA for the 2011-12 academic year. 
“I’m so proud of our group on this great academic accomplishment," said head coach Mike Barroqueiro. "As we strive to become a top program in the MAAC, our players have put a tremendous amount of work on being the best they can both on the field and in the classroom. This is certainly great proof of that. We pride ourselves on developing well-rounded student athletes so i’m pleased that our players are finding so much academic success!”
The Team Academic Award Demonstrates a team's goal-centered focus on their academic priority and rewards all members for commendable academic performance. Las seasons squad finished with a team grade point average of 3.35.
