BUFFALO WILD WING STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK– Aleesha Powell, Women’s Basketball

Iona College women’s basketball sophomore guard Aleesha Powell was named Buffalo Wild Wings Student-Athlete of the Week after propelling her squad to a 2-0 record in MAAC play with wins over Niagara and Canisius. 

Against the Purple Eagles, Powell added nine points and five rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench. She converted on 5-of-7 from the line and was a big part in the 76-65 win.  In the final win on the Western New York trip, Powell added 15 points and four assists. She shot 4-of-6 from the field and 6-of-7 from the line.
