Iona College sophomore forward Joy Adams averaged 17.0 points and 16.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 2.5 assists over two games as the Gaels moved to 7-0 in conference play with a pair of victories on the road. Overall she shot 55.6% (15-for-27) from the field in the two contests and pushed her double-double total on the year to 14. Against Marist, Adams scored 18 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, dished out four assists and grabbed two steals in a thrilling 73-71 victory. The Gaels' win was its first against Marist in 13 years, snapping a 29 game losing streak.
Adams went 7-for-13 (53.8%) from the field, including one from behind the arc. Against Fairfield, Adams scored 16 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end. Adams went 8-for-14 from the field in the game, and scored 14 of her points in the second half. With Iona trailing 59-58, Adams' go ahead layup with 51 seconds left gave the Gaels the lead for good.
Iona is back in action Friday evening when it visits Monmouth for a 7:00 pm start.
