Jordan Washington - Men's Basketball

Senior Jordan Washington carried the Iona men's basketball program to two impressive wins this week, both coming against preseason-conference favorites.

On Wednesday at Fairleigh Dickinson, Washington scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds in just 17 minutes.  He tied a careeer-best with two assists.  The Knights were the NEC tournament champions last year.

On Saturday against Ohio, the All-MAAC Preseason First Team selection had his second career 30+ scoring outing, finishing exactly on the number on 13-for-18 shooting.  He played a career-best 32 minutes in the thrilling four-point win which saw the Gaels back from a 12-point first half deficit to the Bobcats.

The Bobcats entered the game with at No. 11 in's Mid-Major poll.  Washington was taked with guarding the reigning MAC Player of the Year Antonio Campbell, who was limited to under his season average with just 16 points and nine rebounds.

The Gaels return to action on Wednesday evening when they host NJIT at the Hynes Center.
