Iona's Dylan Newman was chosen as the MAAC Men's Golfer of the Month for October, while Hartford's Sarah Sideranko was awarded the MAAC Women's Golfer of the Month award.

Newman, a freshman from New Rochelle, New York, was the top performer for the Gaels who claimed fifth place behind four top 50 finishers, the team's highest showing of the season, at the Scotty Duncan Memorial. The Gaels were led by Newman, who nabbed the squad's first top-10 finish of the season, tying for 6th place with a nine-over 153. At the Connecticut Cup, Newman finished tied for 29th with a three round score of 231.

The 2010 Men's and Women's Golf Championships will be held April 29th-May 2nd at Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, Florida.
