NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona College women's indoor track sophomore Heidi Gregson was formally accepted into the 2010 NCAA Championship in the mile run.   Gregson's time at last Friday's Columbia Last Chance meet was the 10th fastest time in the NCAA among the competitors in this weekend's championship.

Gregson blazed a 4:40.08 in the mile, shattering both the indoor and outdoor school records at the Armory last friday.  She will be the lone competitor for the Gaels at the NCAA Championship at the University of Arkansas.

After the championship banquet on Thursday night, the preliminary heats of the event begin on Friday night (Mar. 12) at 6:10 pm ET.   The championship commences the following day (Mar. 13) at  7:25 pm ET.

Gregson is the first Iona harrier to compete in the NCAA Women's Championship since Salome Kosgei in 2007.
