On Sunday, May 2, members of the Iona College Volleyball team volunteered at the Stride Walk in New Rochelle. The Stride Walk is put on by Sound Shore Hospital and the funds raised go to benefit diabetes patients.
The team showed up bright and early Sunday morning to don bright orange reflective vests. The women were dropped in pairs along the course to assume their duties as course marshals. The Iona team was spirited despite the early morning, and gave encouragement to the runners and walkers as they raced for the cure. Overall, it was a beautiful day and the team's enthusiasm and cheering was appreciated by the hard working runners and walkers.
