On October 23rd, the Iona College women's basketball team put on a clinic for the community during Iona College's Make a Difference Week. During the clinic, the members of the team set up five separate stations and demonstrated five different skills of the game. The children were instructed in drills and played games that pertained to ball handling, agility, shooting, rebounding and defense.
Make a Difference Week is unique to Iona College. It is a week long event of volunteer opportunities, on and off campus--a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Created three years ago to expand the national service day, Make a Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of volunteering. It was created by USA WEEKEND Magazine.
