On Saturday, September 7, the Iona College women's water polo team volunteered at the Toughman/TOUGHkids competition at Croton Point Park.

Tough man Challenge is a half Iron Man (triathlon) and the TOUGHkids competition is a mini triathlon for children. When the team arrived, they received their volunteer t-shirts and split into two groups. Half of the team stuffed goody bags for the end of the TOUGHkids race and the other half helped with registration (signing people in, writing numbers on kids, etc.).

When the races were about to begin, the team split-up into smaller groups and dispersed throughout the course. They kept the kids on track, counted laps, helped with transition and cheered for them. The team does this event (either Tough man or Tough kid) every year and it is very rewarding because they see children succeed and accomplish things they never thought they could do.
