On Sunday October 14th, members of the Iona Cross-Country and Track team volunteered at the Paine to Pain half marathon in New Rochelle, NY. Members of the cross-country team arrived at the start line around 8:30 am where they were told their job. From there, individuals were taken to their assigned location throughout the leatherstocking trail. Some of the roles of the volunteers included: helping usher runners into starting groups, directing runners on the race course, and cheering on runners.
Proceeds from the race are used to help improve the leather-stocking trail.
