NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona College men's basketball head coach Tim Cluess announced the signing of Isaiah Williams to a National Letter of Intent to play in New Rochelle next fall. Williams - a Newark, NJ native - comes to Iona from State College of Florida at Manatee-Sarasota.

"Isaiah is a high-level athlete with a great skill set," said Cluess. "His motor and passion for the game is perfect fit for us here at Iona. We're very excited to see what he can bring to the wing position."

Williams is a 6-7, 175 lb wing that can play four positions on the floor. A pure scorer, he can get to the rim or step out and hit a three pointer. Through four games this season with SFC under head coach Brock Erickson is averaging 17.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.3 steals per game. He is shooting 48.1% from the field and hit nine three pointers. He posted 20 points in two games and had a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double vs. IMG in his season opener.

Williams spent the 2011-12 season at Marshall University but did not play due to NCAA Initial Eligibility rules. In 2010-11, Williams spent his post graduate year at The Robinson School in Irvington, NJ for head coach Vince Robinson where he averaged 27 points six rebounds and five assists.   The summer prior to enrolling at The Robinson School, Williams earned the All Star Game MVP award at the prestigious Hoop Group Elite Camp.

The Gaels have four seniors on the 2012-13 roster: Curtis Dennis, Lamont Jones, Nyandigisi Moikobu and Taaj Ridley.
