NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona College head volleyball Coach Jon Killingbeck has announced the second annual Winter Skills Clinics to be held at the Hynes Athletic Center on January 5.
The day will consist of two different clinics. The first clinic, beginning at 9:00 am, is an all skill clinic focused on teaching the game and improving skills throughout this three hour clinic. Skills to be worked on include hitting (approaches, arm swings, and different shots), setting (hands, footwork, back setting and arch/tempo of sets), serving (standing float, jump float, and jump serving), and passing (platform, eye work, and passing form).
The second clinic, scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm, will focus on two separate skill sets: one focused on hitting and a clinic focused on setting. Each clinic is to advance hitting skills and setting techniques through drills, reps, and games. Hitter’s camp will teach how to attack from all positions, how to hit multiple shots and develop a better understanding of what defensive systems give you. The setter camp is designed to improve all aspects of setting including tempo, arch, and developing a better understanding of how to run your offense.
Cost is $50 for each clinic ($60 at walk up) but you save $25 if you sign up for both.
