EDISON, NJ - Iona College women's basketball freshman forward Joy Adams claimed her third consecutive, and Iona record sixth overall, MAAC Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Adams averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2.5 steals this weekend in helping the Gaels secure an early 2-0 record in conference play.  Connecting on 65% of her shots over the two games, Adams began the weekend with a 16 point, 10 rebound, four steal performance at Niagara, marking her fifth consecutive double-double.  Against Canisius, Adams scored a team high 18 points on 8-for-12 shooting (66%) from the field to go along with six rebounds.

Iona is back in action Thursday afternoon at 12:00 pm, when they welcome Manhattan to the Hynes Center.
