BUFFALO, NY – The Iona College men’s swimming and diving team completed the 2013 MAC Championship in ninth place with 196 points.
In the final day of competition, junior Justin Grigull won the Bronze Medal placing third in the 100-Free at 45.98 (ECAC “A”). Junior Ryan Bacci qualified for the ECAC “B” race with a 48.09.
In the 200-Breast, senior Chris Yacobacci placed fifth with a 2:04.12 (ECAC “A”). Junior Chris Giovine also qualified for ECAC “A” with a 2:10.81.
In the 400-Free relay, Yacobacci, Bacci, Grigull and junior Lee Stiles placed seventh (ECAC “A”) at 3:07.55.
In the 1,650-Free, freshman Scott Martin had a personal best finishing in 16th place at 16:46.41 (ECAC “B”). Martin’s time is nearly 19 seconds faster than his seed time.
