Baseball Drops First Game To #24 Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, OK – The Iona College baseball team dropped the first game of a three-game set, 9-0, to #24 Oklahoma State on Friday evening at Reynolds Stadium. 

Iona (2-14) mustered four hits on the day with a pair from senior SS Matthew Kriss and freshman 1B Christian Choman. Junior LHP Eddie Macaluso lasted six innings on the mound, allowing seven runs on 12 hits. The Iona bullpen allowed two runs over the final two innings. 

Victor Romero led the Cowboys with a home run in the third inning. The hosts scored four runs in the first three innings, followed by a pair in the fourth, a run in the sixth, and then two more in the eighth. Jason Hursh pitched a complete game four hitter and fanned 10 batters. 

Both squads will return to the diamond for a pair of games on Saturday.
