Golf Finishes Third At Mount St. Mary's Invite

LITTLESTOWN, PA - The Iona College golf team secured third place out of 12 teams Tuesday at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational, posting a team score of 304, and finishing with a three round score of 891 (+27).

Binghamton took the team title by three strokes at 877 over Bowling Green in second with a score of 880.

Senior Dylan Newman shot a three-over 75 in the final round and finished tied for seventh with a three round score of 220 (+4).

Senior Doug Hoppe finished ninth after shooting a six-over 78 in round three and carding a final score of 223 (+7).

Senior Andrew Graham finished tied for 14th with a three round score of 228 (+12) after carding a ten-over 82 in round three.

Sophomore Tom McHugh shot a three-over 75 in round three and finished with a three round score of 228 (+14), good enough for an 18th place finish.

Senior Scott Gallo shot a four-over 76 in the final round and finished tied for 32nd after posting a three round score of 234 (+18).

The Gaels are back in action Tuesday, Apr. 23 at the Peacock Invitational at Neshanic GC in Neshanic, NJ, the team's final tuneup before the MAAC Championship.
