NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College athletic department, its student-athletes, coaches and administration pitched in to help students move-in to their residence halls on Sunday as apart of the school's Move-In Day.
There was an out-pouring of support campus-wide for 2013 Move-In Day. Campus organizations, local stores, etc., were there to lend a helping hand. The Gaels student-athletes were there to help carry items as well as hand out a few of their own including student-section t-shirts for the upcoming 2013-14 season.
"I'm proud of our student-athletes, coaches and staff for taking the day to help the students on their first day on campus, moving them in, answering questions and making a different in the community today," said Director of Athletics Rick Cole, Jr.
Student-athletes were quick to grab a box, refrigerator, rack of clothes and take direction from students and parents happy to receive the help. They also took time to engage their new classmates and talk with students and parents discussing their teams and outlook toward their respective seasons.
