NEW YORK, NY - The Iona College athletics department held its 2013 Sports Night Tuesday evening. The annual event is an exclusive cocktail reception to thank members of the Goal Club for their generous support of Iona Athletics and give them an opportunity to meet the Iona coaching staffs and administrators. Representatives from multiple teams were on hand greet attendees. The event was held at the Mutual of America Building in New York City.
The evening was highlighted by speeches from Iona College President Dr. Joseph E. Nyre, Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr., men's basketball head coach Tim Cluess, women's basketball's Billi Godsey and cross country / track & field coach Ricardo Santos '00.
Basketball seniors Sean Armand and Sabrina Jeridore spoke together to thank the Goal Club for its support and the impact it has on the lives of student-athletes. The evening concluded with a video presentation where several additional student-athletes spoke on the support of the Goal Club and the pride that comes with donning the Maroon & Gold on their respective fields of play.
This terrific evening brought together representatives and supporters of Iona College’s past, present, and future. The Goal Club and its member’s dedication and commitment has been instrumental in the success of Iona’s 21 sport Division I program.
