NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College men's basketball team shot 68.0% from the field in the second half and raced to a 76-55 win over Wofford in non-conference action at the Hynes Athletics Center.
Senior Sean Armand scored 15 of his team-high 20 points in the second half and sophomore Isaiah Williams added 13 of his 19 points as the duo alone out scored their opponents in the final 20 minutes. Armand added a team-best four assists while Williams led the Gaels with eight rebounds. Junior David Laury added 15 poitns and seven rebounds while sophomore A.J. English posted nine points in the win. In addition to the stellar field goal percentage the Gaels had 10 assists to just four turnovers in the second half.
Iona struggled from the field in the first half shooting 9-for-31 (29.0%) and had five assists to seven turnovers.
Wofford guard Spencer Collins had 23 points and Karl Cochran added 10 off the bench. Forward Lee Skinner had 10 of his team's 24 total rebounds.
The Gaels are back in action Tuesday at No. 5/6 Kansas and Allan Fieldhouse.
