CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Junior Tara Jameson, senior Chris Stogsdill and rookie Chartt Miller represented the Iona College men's and women's outdoor track teams at the 2014 Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia.
Jameson was the top collegiate finisher in the women's 5000-meter event running a personal best time of 16:15.41. The time is also the third fastest in Iona history behind teammate Kate Avery's 15:27.90 earlier this season at Stanford and Salome Kosgei's 16:03.80 set in May 2005 at the NCAA East Regionals.
Jameson was fourth overall in the race with the winner earning a time of 15:55.38. She topped Virginia's Barbara Strehler - the fifth place finisher in the race - by more than 14 seconds.
Both Stogsdill and Miller set personal bests in the men's 1,500 meter event. Stogsdill was seventh overall and the sixth collegiate finisher in 3:44.23. Miller was 13th overall in 3:45.62. Stogdill's previous personal best was 3:47.39 set at the Mt. SAC relays in April 2011 while Miller lowered his 2014 Mt. SAC relay time of 3:46.53.
