Avery Earns All-America Honors In #NCAATF 5k

EUGENE, OR - Iona College women's outdoor track sophomore Kate Avery completed the 2013-14 athletics season for the Gaels with an eighth place, All-America finish in the 5,000-meter final at the 2014 NCAA Championship at the University of Oregon's Heyward Field.

Avery completed the race with a time of 15:58.73, nearly two seconds faster than her preliminary time of 16:00.68. Avery's time was just the second sub 16-minute 5k performance in school history following her school record mark of 15:27.90 at Stanford in April.

Texas senior Marielle Hall won the individual championship in 15:35.11.
