On Wednesday, December 10th, members of the Iona College Baseball team participated in the sixth annual Christmas Toy Drive at the Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle. The event, which has been highly successful, was a joyous time for all the players as well as the children.

In an auditorium filled with so much holiday joy and spirit, team members gave Santa Claus a helping hand by distributing gifts to the hundreds of children in attendance and anxiously waiting to get their picture taken with Santa. Some of the players helped out at the cookie station, a player and children favorite, other players led the children in entertainment and other activities including a parachute and “limbo” contest!

Dressed in Iona College baseball sweatshirts, the players had a great time interacting with children from the New Rochelle area and sharing stories of Christmas’ past as well as their experiences on the baseball field.
