Welcome to the Hynes Athletics Center
Iona broke ground on the Hynes Athletics Center at a ceremony on October 30, 2004 under a canopy of beautiful fall foliage. Iona Board of Trustees member James P. Hynes (Iona Class of 1969), his wife Ann Marie, twin daughters Alanna and Katie and family were honored at the event. The Hynes Athletics Center defines the southern edge of the Mazzella Field quadrangle. Neighboring the Hagan School of Business and the Robert V. Lapenta Student Union, The Hynes Athletics Center overlooks Mazzella Field. With the opening of the Hynes Athletics Center in January 2006, the Mazzella Field Quadrangle represents the center of athletics and student activity. Iona College students and members enjoy a facility eared toward promoting the lifelong benefits associated with recreational sports and fitness.
