Hynes Athletics Center - Programs

Fitness & Wellness

We at Iona College are committed to promoting and enhancing the physical, interpersonal, emotional, and spiritual wellness of our students. Throughout the year a multitude of resources, activities, and programs are offered to assist students in functioning optimally across all dimensions of their lives.

The Recreation and Intramural Office in conjunction with the Student Development Office offer a variety of fitness and wellness programs at the Hynes Athletics Center. Enrollment for classes is on a first come first serve basis, so please try to arrive at classes approximately 5 minutes before there scheduled start time.

Unless otherwise noted, all classes are for all fitness levels, but those with serious knee and back injuries should consult a physician before starting, as any new participant in an exercise class should. Additionally, proper gym attire must be worn at all times.

Fitness Orientation Schedule

Take a tour of our new fitness facilities with one of our experienced staff members. Learn how to use all the latest fitness and cardio equipment we offer. Fitness classes are offered on a daily basis, and can also be scheduled individually with our fitness staff. Please check the Sports Schedules and Information page for a listing of orientation sessions and for information on how you can participate in a class.
