Matt Glovaski
Deputy Director of Athletics

Matt Glovaski is in his ninth year as an administator in Iona's Athletics Department. On February 1 2017, Director of Athletics Rick Cole, Jr. announced the appointment of Glovaski as Deputy Director of Athletics after serving as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Advancement & External Affairs since 2013. In his position, Glovaski serves as the chief revenue generator and head of the Iona College Goal Club, the fundraising arm for the Gaels' 21 varsity programs.

Prior to his appointment, Glovaski served as the lead administrator for Internal Affairs. In that capacity, Glovaski was responsible for managing and maintaining the entire athletics department budget, the daily fiscal operations, while also handling all aspects of team travel and transportation. Additionally, Glovaski oversaw the strength and conditioning department, facilities operations, and staff payroll.

In his first year in New Rochelle in 2005-06, Glovaski served as Assistant AD for Recreation and Intramurals. The new position served to oversee the day-to-day operations of the new Hynes Athletics Center as well as the recreation and intramural programs at Iona.

Glovaski came to New Rochelle from Harvard University were he served for a year and a half in the Athletic Operations department. He gained a wealth of experience in events management at Harvard running numerous athletic events on the Cambridge, MA campus.

In the summer of 2005, Glovaski served as director of operations for the Boston Lobsters, a member of the World Team Tennis association. During the 2003-04 academic year, he served as an assistant varsity baseball coach and head JV coach at his alma mater, Springfield College.

For six years, Glovaski served as head golf coach for Iona. At the 2011 MAAC Golf Championships, Glovaski was named the MAAC Coach of the Year. The Gaels' second place finish at the Championships was the best for the Maroon & Gold since 2003, when the Gaels also claimed second. The 2013 squad earned its second runner-up finish under Glovaski as three Gaels earned All-MAAC honors.

In 2013, Glovaski mentored the program to four top-five finishes, after leading five top-five finishes in 2011.  During the spring of the 2011, the Gaels finished in the top four of their five tournaments.

Glovaski is a 2001 graduate of Springfield College earning a bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Education. He received his master's degree in Athletics Administration from Springfield. A four-year letterwinner at Springfield, Glovaski was a 1999 All-Conference selection and currently sits tenth all-time in career victories.
