Adjei Called Up To U20 Ghana National Team

Iona College rising junior Samuel Adjei was one of 19 players called up to the U20 Ghana National Team in preparation for qualifying at the 2013 African Youth Championship.

A season ago, Adjei was second on the Gaels in points with 19 on six goals and seven assists.  Adjei was credited with three game winners during the season in which he was named to the All-MAAC First Team as well as the First Team of the NSCAA All-North Atlantic Team.

The players, all foreign-based will undergo a three-day exercise beginning Saturday, June 9th in Legon. The training will end on Monday, June 11th.  Based on Adjei's success at the camp, he may be selected to play for the squad in a friendly against Egypt at the end of June and could potentially earn a spot on the team's U20 World Cup Qualifying team.
