CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Iona College men's water polo team picked up its first Northern Division win of the season Saturday evening with a 11-10 victory. The Gaels prevailed after sophomore Kristian Bocage notched his fourth goal of the contest, a game winning shot in the second sudden death overtime period.

Iona led 8-5 in the fourth quarter before a 4-1 scoring mark by the Crimson left the game at 9-9 after four quarters. Iona looked on the brink of defeat at the end of the second overtime period before junior Trevor Creighton scored with less than 10 seconds left to tie the contest at 10 and send it into sudden death overtime.

Iona avoided more potential heartbreak in the first sudden death period when freshman Stefen Hill was able to stop a Harvard penaly shot and send the contest to a second sudden death period. Hill made 18 saves, the second most in a single game by a Gaels netkepper.

Besides four goals, Bocage had two steals while Creighton also had four goals as well as an assist and he drew four ejections. Senior Seth Tasman had a goal and an assist while junior Matt Joslyn had three steals.

Iona is back in action Sunday morning when they take on MIT at 11:00 am.
