STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Katie Higgins, women’s soccer 

Sophomore Katie Higgins scored the game-winning in the 102nd minute for the Iona College women’s soccer team, in a home victory over Siena on October 23. Higgins was left wide open just inside the box for a header off a corner kick for the 1-0 victory over the Saints at Mazzella Field. 

With the tally, Higgins netted her first career collegiate goal and gave the Gaels their fifth victory of the season.
