BOSTON, MA AND NEW YORK, NY - The Iona College women's indoor track squad completed action at both the 2012 ECAC Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center and the Columbia Last Chance Meet at the Armory Track and Field Center this weekend.
Freshman Regina Neumeyer earned silver medal honors in the mile run as the Gaels' top performer at ECACs. Neumeyer ran her third fastest time of the season in 4:47.17 and finished just over a second behind the first place performer from host Boston University. Neumeyer qualified for Saturday's final by running the fastest preliminary time of 4:50.94. Sophomore Kirsten Stewart finished ninth in the final (5:06.48) after missing a personal best time by .3 seconds in the preliminary round with her 4:52.35.
Junior Hollie Rowland was third overall in the 5,000-meter event, finishing in 16:29.82. It was her second fastest time of the indoor track season. Junior Marion Joly-Testault ran a season best 16:40.58 to finish fifth overall.
At Columbia, senior Heidi Gregson finished fifth in the mile run, posting a time of 4:40.21. It was her second fastest time of the season and third fastest in school history.
