PALO ALTO, CA - Iona College women's outdoor track graduate student Hollie Rowland ran the second fastest time in school history in the 10,000-meter event at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford University.
Rowland's time of 34:28.25 is more than six seconds faster than former No. 2 Emmily Chelanga (34:34.93). She joins Chelanga and school record holder Salome Kosgei (33:44.61) as the only three performers in school history to run a sub-35 minute 10k.
Rowland was the seventh collegiate and 13th overall finished in the Section 2 10k event at Stanford.
