BETHLEHEM, PA - Iona College women's cross country sopohomore Marion Joly-Testault made her season debut and finished 49th at the 2010 Brooks Paul Short Run gold race hosted by Lehigh University. Joly-Testault completed the 6k event in 21:28. As a team, the Gaels finished tied for 20th in the 41 team gold race. One-hundred eighteen teams and more than 1,000 competitors competed in three sections of the women's event.
Joly-Testault was the team's top finisher and was followed by the debut of another runner in Maroon & Gold, freshman Kirsten Stewart. The rookie harrier finished 61st in 21:40. Seniors Siobhan Dwyer (126th, 22:21), Kristen Peluso (128th, 22:22) and Chelsea Brisman (290th, 23:47) rounded out Iona's competitors and top five in the race.
The Gaels are back in action next weekend at Van Cortlandt Park and the 2010 New York Metropolitan Championships on Friday (Oct. 8).
