PINE HILLS, NJ - The Iona College golf team continued its spring season Monday at the Penn Quaker Invitational. The Gaels as a team finished tied for third with a 66-over 634. IUPUI finished first with a score of 613 (+45).
Junior Dylan Newman was the Gaels' top finisher, tying for seventh after shooting a two round score of 154 (+12). Newman opened with a seven-over 78 in round one before shooting a five-over 76 in round two. Junior Andrew Graham tied for 11th, with a 15-over 157. Graham opened the day with a 13-over 84 before making an adjustment with two-over 73 in round two. Junior Doug Hoppe tied for 18th with a 17-over 159. Hoppe started the day with an 11-over 82 in round one before finishing the day with a six-over 77. Sophomore Jordan Kral tied for 55th with a 25-over 167, beginning the day with a 12-over 83 in round one before shooting a near identical 13-over 84 in his second round. Junior Scott Gallo was the final Iona finisher, taking 66th with a 31-over 173. Gallo opened the day with a 21-over 92 before shooting a 10-over 81 in round two.
Iona returns to the links April 15, when they compete at the Lafayette College Spring Invite.
