EASTON, PA - The Iona College golf team continued spring season play Sunday with the opening round of the Lafayette Spring Invitational, held at Northampton Country Club. The Gaels shot a team score of 308 in round one, good for fourth place, and sit seventeen shots behind first place Hofstra University.
Sophomore Jordan Kral is the highest Gael on the leaderboard, sitting in a tie for ninth place after a first round four-over 76. Juniors Dylan Newman and Doug Hoppe are two of nine golfers tied for 14th after each shot five-over 77 in the first round. Junior Scott Gallo is tied for 23rd after shooting a six-over 78 on day one while junior Andrew Graham is tied for 35th after shooting a seven-over 79.
Round two begins Monday morning at 9:00 am.
