Gaels Remain In Fifth Place After Day Two at MAAC's

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA - The Iona college golf team continues to sit in fifth place after Day Two of the 2012 MAAC Championships at the Disney Magnolia Golf Course on Saturday afternoon.

The Gaels shot a 300 for the day, three shots better then yesterday’s opening round. Junior Dylan Newman shot just one stroke over par or a 73 and is tied for seventh overall. Classmate Doug Hoppe tied Newman with a team-low 73 after decreasing his overall shots by one and is just one shot over par. 

Junior Andrew Graham had the best turn-around performance shooting using four less shots then in the opener and is tied with sophomore Jordan Kral for 23rd overall. Graham shot a 76 and Kral finished at 79. Junior Scott Gallo also had a two-shot improvement in the middle round and is tied for 28th after shooting a 78. 
Loyola is atop the leader board shooting a conference-low 291.

The final round will pick up tomorrow with staggered times beginning at 7 am.
