LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA – A strong finish in the final round moved the Iona College golf team up the leaderboard to a fourth place finish at the 2012 MAAC Championship on Sunday afternoon at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.

Led by a second place finish by junior Dylan Newman who shot a team best 70 and 215 overall finishes the competition one under par. Junior Doug Hoppe finished tied for 13 after shooting a 76 and 223 overall. Classmate Andrew Graham finished the weekend by shooting his lowest on the course, just two over par for a 74.  Scott Gallo also lowered his score on the final day shooting a 75 and finishing in 25th place.

Loyola University finished in first place shooting a total score of 868 and Jay Mulieri won the individual contest shooting four under par.
