EDISON, NJ - Iona College volleyball freshman MB Catrina Warren earned her third MAAC Rookie of the Week Honor for her performance in the Gaels' back-to-back three-set wins over Saint Peter's and Manhattan this weekend.
Warren continued her torrid stretch with a .472 hitting percentage and a team leading 23 kills and 27.0 total points. She averaged 3.83 kills, 0.83 blocks and 1.00 digs in back-to-back three-set sweeps over Saint Peter's and Manhattan. Warren posted 13 kills and a .476 hitting percentage vs. Saint Peter's and a team-leading 10 kills and a .467 percentage vs. Saint Peter's.
Warren leads the MAAC with a .342 hitting percentage, 35 points ahead of Marist's Mackenzie Stevens and Fairfield's Kendal Dirkin. In conference games, she's hitting .388, 50 points ahead of Dirkin in the No. 2 spot. Warren also ranks No. 3 with 1.04 blocks per set, No. 4 with 4.11 points per set and No. 5 with 0.43 aces per set in eight MAAC contests.
In six home games this season, Warren has hit a team-best .382 and averages 1.09 blocks per set in leading the Gaels to a 5-1 mark at the Hynes Center. During Iona's recent four-match winning streak, Warren has posted 3.67 kills, 1.07 blocks and hit .396.
It is Warren's fourth MAAC Weekly honor of the season after earning Offensive Player of the Week last Monday.
The third place Gaels (6-2) take on second place Fairfield (8-1) on Saturday afternoon in Fairfield.
