Bob Paul served as an assistant coach for Cluess at C.W. Post for four seasons in Brookville, NY. He helped lead Cluess' Pioneer program to a 98-23 record from 2006-10 including three straight first place finishes in the East Coast Conference and two tournament titles in 2007-08 and 2008-09. The team finished the 2007-08 season as NCAA East Regional Champion and was an Elite Eight participant.
Paul will serve as Iona's Director of Men's Basketball Operations in 2010-11.
Paul's responsibilities with the Pioneers' program included recruiting, player development, on-floor coaching, opponent scouting, film breakdown, game preparation and in addition various other administrative duties he was in charge of the program’s academics.
Paul also served as the assistant varsity and head freshman boys basketball coach at his alma mater, Chaminade High School, from 2000-08. Paul assisted the varsity Flyers to a Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA league championship in the "A" Division in 2000 and 2003 along with an overall league title in 2008. The program earned a CHSAA state championship in 2003 and was runner up in the Federation title game. In 2008, Chaminade was a CHSAA state finalist.
In addition to his work at Chaminade, Paul also served as head of the Long Island Lightning AAU program where he saw 15 of his players move on to play collegiately at schools such as Adelphi, Boston University, NYU, Johns Hopkins, Hofstra, UMass, Holy Cross, and Yale. He also has summer camp coaching experience at Hoop Group Elite / Eastern Invitational Basketball Clinic and Five-Star and Hoop Mountain Basketball camps.
Paul is a 1996 graduate of Boston College holding a degree in History and Pre-Medical Studies. He earned his master's degree in Education from CW Post in 2002. He and his wife, the former Janine Hull, reside in Plainview, NY.
