NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Following the completion of the six Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships this winter, the Iona College athletic department remains atop the 2013-14 Academy Bus MAAC Commissioner's Cup Standings.

Iona holds a 17 point advantage on the No. 2 team Rider in the overall standings and are also in first in the men's standings, leading Manhattan by 10.  In the women's standings, the Gaels are in second place, 6.5 points behind Marist.

The men's and women's basketball programs were both standouts of the winter season earning regular season titles in conference play. The men's team advanced to the MAAC Championship game while the women's team appeared in the semifinal.

Also in winter action, the men's and women's swimming and diving programs finished seventh and sixth respectively at their MAAC Championships in Buffalo. Men's and women's indoor track competed for a MAAC title at the armory. The men's squad finished third while the women were fourth.

The Gaels maintain their lead following a historic fall which saw MAAC titles from both men's and women's cross country programs. Both extended the national's longest active cross country conference championship streaks with the men now at 23 in a row and the women at nine.

Iona's other three programs competing in head-to-head action during the regular season each finished in the top four in their respective sports. Men's and women's soccer finished third overall while volleyball was third and all three participated in the MAAC Championship tournament event.
