Hello! This is Colleen Connors, freshman guard, with day five of the Iona Women’s Basketball blog. My trip here to Canada has been an amazing experience. This is my first trip out of the United States, and it has been much better than I expected. This trip has been full of fun activities, incredible views, and good times with great people.

Today was mostly spent travelling. Our day started out with an early team breakfast at 8:00 am. Afterwards, we all boarded the bus to start our six-hour trip from Niagara Falls to Ottawa. When we arrived three movies later, we had a quick workout on the hotel patio and in the workout facility. We did some cone drills and cardio just to stay loose. After the workout, we got ready to go out to dinner in downtown Ottawa. Ottawa was beautiful. We definitely took the scenic route getting to the restaurant, walking through the city. This area had these old, historic buildings that were incredible. Walking through the city was the only way to fully enjoy its beauty. It was well worth the long walk to sit down with my coaches and team for a nice dinner at Fat Tuesdays, as well.

So far, this international trip has been amazing and I know the next couple days will only get better. I am excited to continue this trip with my team and coaches. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to spend this week with here in Canada.
