Iona College women’s soccer assistant coach Bailey Flood has received her United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “B” License after completing her first season under head coach Mike Barroqueiro.

Flood, a 2010 graduate of Manhattanville College was added to the Iona coaching staff at the beginning of last season and worked with the Gaels’ midfielders and defenders.

“I’ve always been very proud and appreciative to have someone like Bailey on staff here at Iona and I could not be more thrilled about her recent professional accomplishment”, said Barroqueiro. “Her commitment to pursue coaching education and desire to continue her development at her craft is a testament to just how dedicated she is to the game and all the lives that she has touched while coaching it."

At just 23 years old, Flood is one of the youngest coaches in the country with a B-License, which is the 2nd highest license that a coach can obtain through the federation. The process to obtain the B-License is a very demanding nine-day residential course and the individual must pass a number of evaluations in order to complete the course.

“She is a rising star in this profession and an inspiration to each of our players. We are so proud to have her representing our Iona family!," commented Barroqueiro.
