LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Iona College women's soccer team endured windy and cold conditions, but gave up two goals in the second half in a 2-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference loss at Rider.  The Gaels dropped to 1-2-1 in league play (3-11-1 overall) while the Broncs are now 2-3 in MAAC games and 6-6-2 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Rider's Abi Cottam scored the first tally of the night with 18 minutes left in the second period on a pass from Bridgette Bartkowski.  Jennifer Meier added the insurance goal after receiving a feed from Kimberly Reichel for the final score with 9:27 remaining.

Senior Abby Dixon and sophomore Gabriella D'Aprile each led Iona with three shots apiece.  The Gaels trailed 13-10 in shots attempts on the night.  Freshman goalkeeper Trista Rivera made five saves while Alex Post saved one for Rider.

Iona continues its two-game road trip at Loyola on Sunday afternoon.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm in Baltimore.
