NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona College women's soccer head coach Linda Hathorn announced the dates for her 2014 Iona College Elite ID Clinics. The clinic will be available on both April 13 and April 27.
The IC Elite College ID Clinics are open to all high school aged (14-18) girls soccer players who intend to play at the college level. By providing an elite college training environment run by college coaches, players have the opportunity to showcase their talents and experience a day in the life of an NCAA Division I women’s soccer student-athlete!
The day begins with a 9:30 am check-in at Mazzella Field before a training session from 10:00 am - 11:30 am. Following lunch, a general campus tour will begin at 12:15 pm, followed by talks on both strength & conditioning (1:15 pm) and NCAA regulations (1:45 pm). A second training session will run from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm followed by an hour of games. Please note that the schedule is subject to change.
In Hathorn's first season at the helm of the program, the Gaels completed the 2013 season with a 7-8-4 overall record and 6-2-2 in the MAAC as six players earned All-Conference recognition. The 20 points earned in league play were the most in the history of the program. Iona's No. 3 seed in the MAAC Championship was also the highest since its MAAC Championship campaign in 1992.
The clinic flyer can be found here for more information. The clinic costs $100, and checks must be made payable to Iona College Women's Soccer.
