STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kristina Ford, women’s basketball

Senior Kristina Ford is determined to show the MAAC conference that she is the top overall player and has put the conference on notice, as she was named the first MAAC weekly honoree after averaging 23.0 points per game through the first week of the regular season.

In the squads first game of the season against North Carolina A&T, the Queens native, scored a career-high 34 points en route to a 85-69 victory in the opening round of the Iona College Tip-Off Tournament.  Ford also eclipsed the 1,000-point barrier early in the opening frame.

She then added 12 points in the final round of the home tournament, before being named the MAAC Player of the Week on Monday, November 14.
