BRIDGEPORT, PA - A record 310 student-athletes have been named to the 2009 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete Team. Previously named the All-Academic Team, the program honors varsity and club student-athletes who have achieved grade point averages of 3.2 or higher and competed during the 2009 men's season.

Overall, 90 athletes were honored with Outstanding (3.71-4.0) recognition, while 119 earned Superior (3.41-3.7) and 101 were recognized with Excellent (3.2-3.4) accolades. The Gaels were led on the list by sophomore Ryan Scott's placement on the Outstanding recognition list. Iona as a team was named to the Team GPA list, awarded to squads with GPAs higher than 2.75.
