The Iona College women's swimming and diving team defeated Canisius College in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action on the road Saturday morning. The Gaels were victorious in six events, outscoring the Griffs by a score of 131-110.

Freshman Brigitte Doughty took first in the 200 yd free with a time of 2:01.08. Doughty picked up a victory for the Gaels with a first place finish in the 500 yd freestyle, touching the wall with a time of 5:25.43. In the 400 yd freestyle relay, Doughty's team was second with a time of 3:51.05. 

The Gaels are back in action Wednesday, Dec. 1 when they travel to Brooklyn, NY to compete against St. Francis (NY).
